Proactive Pest Control

I decided to take a proactive stance on controlling those nasty tomato hornworms and stinky squash bugs this year. I don't use chemicals on my plants because the thought of all those nasty cancer causing substances soaking into my fresh, healthy veggies gives my the heeby geebies. So, I did some research and came up with the idea of planting certain things like anise, garlic, onion, french marigolds, celery and parsley in specific locations to try to discourage the little nasties from invading my garden. The other thing I've been doing is watering about once a week with compost tea... Love it!! So far it's working.... I've also noticed an increase in beneficial insects like praying mantis and ladybugs....
